  Hello and Welcome to the
Essex Young Farmers Website!

We are a youth organisation made up of 16-26 year olds and, despite the name, you don’t have to be a farmer to join; absolutely anyone can be a member! Young Farmers is run by its members for its members so everyone has the chance to have a say in what goes on. There really is something for everyone, be it organising events, playing sports, fundraising for charities or simply enjoying the social side of it all!

There are 11 clubs scattered over the county, just click on the site map to find your nearest club. Essex has over 300 members and nationally there are some 2,000 young farmers spread around the country, check out our national website for more details.
Competitions, activities and parties are the backbone of Essex Young Farmers. There is at least one competition a month for clubs to take part in, including bowling, rugby, mixed hockey, football, netball, public speaking, tug of war and many more.
The activities are always a favourite with members. They include several formal balls throughout the year as well as quiz nights, pub-crawls, trips out, team building events…. the list really is endless! There is never a shortage of parties and most Friday nights there will be something going on in some part of the county.

As if this wasn’t enough for us to be getting on with, Essex Young Farmers also organises one of the county’s biggest annual Country Shows. This is attended by over 10,000 people and is organised and run entirely by us, the members. If you are looking for a challenge then this might just be for you!
On top of this, Young Farmers gives you the chance to travel the world through one of the many different exchange trips we have on offer. Exchanges vary from a week to several months and from Europe all the way to Australia and New Zealand!
As for club life, most clubs meet up once a week, usually in a function room of a local pub. The meetings are extremely varied, with guest speakers coming to talk some weeks whilst other weeks time will be spent organising upcoming parties, competitions or fundraising events or just sitting back and catching up on all the gossip!
If you like the sound of what you read then find your nearest club on the site map and click on its name to find out where and when they meet. Give our office a call to find out what they are up to in the upcoming weeks, then turn up and get stuck in.
Young Farmers provides so many opportunities to learn new things, meet new people and, most importantly, have a good time so come
along and find out more. You won’t be disappointed!
