The Essex Young Farmers Country Show has quickly become one of the premier agricultural shows in the county, with over 12,000 visitors at our 2007 Show. Our 2008 Show is on Sunday May 18th at a new venue Boyton Hall, Roxwell A1060
The show is organised and run entirely by the members, which is a fantastic achievement considering how much is involved. There are many different areas to the show, including the Livestock Area, Game Fair, Craft Hall, Exhibition Hall, Vintage Tractors, Food Hall, Tea Rooms, Farmers Markets, plus many high quality tradestands. There are also two showrings, which are packed full of action and excitement throughout the day. The Young Farmers tug of war competition is one of the highlights with boys’ and girls’ teams across the county slogging it out in front of hundreds of cheering fans.
A lot of hard work goes on for the show behind the scenes, with monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month. These are open for anyone interested in finding out more, just ring our office for details. It takes a week before the show to set everything up and then once it is all over and done with for another year it takes a further week to tidy up. |
